How the Riots and Looting Prove the Eventual Rapture of the Church
Notice something strange happening across America?
How about Portland, OR?
In Portland, anarchists have raged war against the police for more than two months. Last night, they began burning Bibles. A new country broke off in downtown Seattle a few months back with the blessing of elected officials. New York continues to enjoy discord, as do a number of other cities in the United States.
Lawlessness and social unrest has taken over America and no one really seems to give a damn.
Of course, all this points to the troubling End Times scenario as written in the Book burned by the anarchists in Portland. While many encourage the violence and destruction others shake their heads. Some of us, though, pray for restraint. Perhaps that’s why the surfaced evil has not metastasized.
Regardless, the Bible does contain any number of warnings and foreshadowing of things to come.
Take for example Enoch. He walked with God and then was no more. This happened prior to God’s judgement on the earth. Lot too was snatched out of Sodom and Gomorrah just prior to God’s judgement. In Luke 21, Jesus says “…pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen…” and in 1 Thessalonians Paul says “…Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds…”
The rapture references go on and on.
But Jesus also talked about the birth pains and the signs of the end of the age which included earthquakes, wars and rumors of wars, nations rising against nations (if you didn’t know the word used for nations is actually “ethos” which means ethnicities) famines and other signs and wonders.
Basically, we are getting a sneak preview of what’s to come and the riots and demonic behavior shown by the anarchists in Portland and various other places should give you an idea of what will happen when the Lord fully removes His church from the earth.
State Governments Restrain Local Churches
Because in some respects, right now, the church has been removed, at least for a time.
But not by God.
When was the last time you went to church? Actually went to church? Where is the church? Oh sure, we can “attend” church online but the American church has been muzzled, or restrained by various state governments. California has restricted churches from gathering, so has Oregon, Washington and various other states.
South Dakota has not. Interesting to see that state thriving in spite of the coronavirus. But I digress.
If you want to tackle a massive mission field, look no further than Portland and Seattle two of the most, if not the two most, unchurched cities in America. Governors of both states locked down the church and arguably locked down with it the supernatural calming influence, or restraint of evil.
Don’t misunderstand, certainly God can supersede Governors Kate Brown and Jay Inslee who should be forgiven for they no not what they do. Same with Andrew Cuomo, Gavin Newsome and others who think drugs, alcohol and gambling create more prosperity than the church. They only think in terms of money and sadly their ignorant and misguided view of the world.
A Restrained Church Allows for Evil to Flourish
I submit to you, the church, present but muzzled, no longer fully restrains society’s penchant for evil. Definitely the prayers of the faithful ring out and the Holy Spirit remains, but the man-made restraints tied carefully and tightly around the one institution that brings more good to the world than any government ever has, restricts the exhaustive supernatural power that restrains the devil.
Indeed, Satan prospers in Portland, Seattle, New York, California and every other state that placed handcuffs on the Restrainer. We reap what we sow and the coronavirus lockdown has simply provided a sneak preview of what’s to come and what those left behind can expect to face once the church and Holy Spirit leave for good.
Someday, no longer restrained, the evil that men do will spread the bloodshed and destruction currently descending on major downtown areas quickly and violently as it springs up to and fro in all corners of the globe.
"And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way." – 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7
