UNDERSTANDING FAITH THROUGH PRAYER by Robert Schaetzle
One morning during my quiet time, listening to the Spirit’s prompting, I was reminded; ‘we live not by things we do- but by faith in Jesus, who did it all for us.’ My thoughts became more tuned to God’s leading, not my understanding.
For me in that moment I was recognizing the preeminence of God’s authority over me. Our Mediator, God’s Holy Spirit, is present always to intercede. Especially in prayer, as God presented to me this grace awakening. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 RSV
Our Faith Refreshed
Anxiety over matters, whether it be decisions made over of our current pandemic, concerns for the Spiritual enlightenment of loved ones, questions over having enough needed resources, God knows. We must purpose to remember, His abiding presence is there to intercede as being our sufficiency.
Concerns on our heart, are not secret to God’s abiding Spirit living in us. We need not attempt to intellectualize ourself, to think we have to help God understand the burdens we carry. We can refresh our faith, by being completely transparent with deeper trust in letting go, and letting God in.
Father, refresh our faith, to understand, living our life’s experiences measures out our faith. To recognize your Spirit’s promptings. Obedience to these promptings brings grace beyond measure, as we witness your preeminence through prayer... in Jesus, AMEN
