By sin we are condemned, shame’s iron stares,
Our lives are a mess, who will wash away our guilt?
Who will have mercy, an ear for our cares?
When our glory days are over, our happiness wilts,
Our lives seem empty when stripped from it all,
When the castles we had crumble, the idols we made,
Who will come free us from our prison walls,
Who shall we turn to when all desires fade?
Yet love paid the way, the heavy price,
Even in our darkness when from God we hide,
One paid the way, Jesus Christ made the sacrifice,
To give us hope though we continue to slip and slide,
So come seek a mercy too great to understand,
Come seek this love from God’s strong and mighty hand.
