Why are we living in this world?

The question to be addressed is: if God does not want us to love the world, why are we living inside it? This question leads us to the two purposes of life in the world.
1. Life is to be used to serve God. In 2 King 20:1-6, we read the story of Hezekiah who was sick unto death. God told him he was a dead man but he pointed it out to Him that he used his life to serve Him.
The lesson in this story is that if you use your life as God designs it, you will enjoy it and you will live long. A life that is not used to serve God can be terminated at anytime.
2. Life is meant to be shared with others like our spouses, families and other people in our environments, communities, nations and the world at large, depending on the potentials God has given us. When you do this, you will enjoy it.
Some people enjoy life when they put smiles on other people’s faces while others who do not are sorrowful. The result of using your life for selfish purpose is to lose it.The prove of that is found in Luke 12:16-21, which says, “And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
I pray that God helps us to use our lives for the purposes He designs them for in Jesus name.
