Job 23 Where is God?

This is the 21st in a series of 40 poems I wrote based on the book of Job. This is from Job 23, Job's eighth speech: a response to Eliphaz. Open your Bible, read along and let me know your thoughts!
if I knew where to find God, I would go there
Then Job spoke again:
Even now, I complain, yet I know it's in vain;
his hand's heavy — I can't help but groan.
If I found him somehow I would travel there now
and I'd fall on my face at his throne.
I would just plead my case if we met, face to face;
state my arguments, one at a time.
I could hear his reply — the exact reasons why
I had ever been charged with a crime.
Would he vigorously be contentious to me?
I believe he would bear me no grudge.
There, a righteous man could have his case understood;
I'd be pardoned, at last, from my judge.
Though I've searched everywhere in the east — he's not there.
In the west, I have not seen a trace.
Though he works in the north, he has never come forth;
in the south, I have not seen his face.
To my comfort, he knows every turn my path goes;
I'll be tested and come out as gold.
In his footprints, I've stepped; and his ways have been kept.
I have not turned aside on this road.
Not a thing can eclipse the commands from his lips,
and I treasure his words more than meals.
Once his mind has been set who can make him forget?
For he does whatsoever he feels.
He's performing in me what he wants me to be,
and he's planning more changes be made.
That's the reason I fear when I sense he is near;
when considered, I'm greatly afraid.
God has made my heart sick — I've been cut to the quick,
for Shaddai has me frightened to death.
Since he chose to enshroud me in this ebon cloud,
I'll speak out until my final breath.
