Now he had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. John 4:4-5 NIV
The most direct route from Judea to Galilee would pass through Samaria. Jesus did not have to take that route. In fact, the Pharisees would never go that route as it woujd put them in contact with Samaritans, which was not in their intention. Christ however needed to take this route that He might preach unto the Samaritan world as well.
Are there certain types of people you would rather not share the Good News with? Who are we to be the judge of someone? The whole world must hear the Good News. It is our obligation to share the Good News with all people, not just those with whom we would prefer to share it. We certainly cannot show judgement in sharing God’s Word.
