This Is My Food
When young Jesus aged twelve was not to be found, his parents were worried and went back to the temple searching for him, and later when they found Him after three days, He was not roaming like a depressed and a lost person, but rather sitting in the midst of the doctors hearing them and asking questions.
If ever Joseph and Mary or if fact we ourselves would have met these doctors of the law, the best that we could do was to pay respect to these doctors acknowledging their greatness and humbling ourselves, however what need had He Who is above all and Who knows the intent of every heart to shy away from such doctors, He carefully listened to them and asked questions.
When the worried Parents queried about this, this is what Jesus said..
“And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?””
John 4:34 (NKJV)
And what is the Father’s will?
“Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. Matthew 18:14 (NKJV)”
God does not want any one of us ever to perish, however God is not just defensive about us but there is much more…
God wants us to be fruitful and in this He is glorified.
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
John 15:8 (NKJV)
God wants to save us from hell, however at the same time make us fruitful and blessed citizens of heaven.
God wants to remove all our curses and at the same time make us a blessing for others
God wants to take away our sorrows and pain and at the same time make us comforters of the suffering.
God has picked us from the pit and miry clay not that we rest on level grounds, but He has placed us on the mountain top to live for His glory.
When the brothers of Joseph (Old Testament) threw him in an empty dark dry well to punish him, God took him from there and elevated him to be a blessed minister in Egypt.
Our business/purpose/aim on this earth is nothing else but to bring glory, honor and praise to the Lord God.
For He alone is worthy for all Who He is and for all that He does.
