Led By The Holy Spirit.
The experience of the infilling of the Holy Spirit during Pentecost was awesome and blessed. They got to speak in new tongues, got the power to heal all types of sickness, yet above all this they got a reformed personality which was empowered by the Holy Spirit and sought peace and restoration to God.
“And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.”
Luke 2:25 (NKJV)
The Bible narrates the example of Simeon who lived during the time the Lord was in this earth and who was filled with the Holy Spirit. The Bible speaks about him that he was just and devout and sought the consolation of God’s people and this is truly a character driven by the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
What are the signs of the infilling of the Holy Spirit?
Ask a mango tree why is it called a ‘mango tree’ and its obviously named after the fruit it produces, similar is with every other tree, so unless the fruits of the Spirit is there, we are not filled with the Holy Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
If we claim to be filled with the Holy Spirit and have been blessed with speaking in tongues, however do not exhibit the fruits in our character and personality, we claim amiss.
Today, we find many such people, who claim to have the blessed experience of the Pentecost, however their life doesn’t speak so.
The first in the list of the blessed gifts of the Holy Spirit is ‘love’. Jesus while mentioning to His disciples the identification that they are truly His followers mentioned this….
“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:35 (NKJV)
If genuine love permeates through all our dealings and if this be our lifestyle then not only are we proved led by the Spirit and identified as Christ’s disciples, but the major problems disrupting the solace and peace in the families and the society can be erased forever.
Let us be filled with the Spirit and may the world see a new person in us, who seeks peace, solace, consolation and God’s glory in all they do.
God Bless.
