Caring With Sharing The ‘Good News’
Some time ago I had written a small article about ‘Spiritual Obesity’, wherein I tried to highlight the fact of our lack of spiritual workouts, we tend to hear a lot of ‘Good news’, however sadly we tend to keep it to ourselves, we need the exercise spiritually which involves living the message and also preaching the message.
“Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.”
Luke 2:17-18 (NKJV)
The shepherds were quick to spread the good news of Christ’s birth so that others may also know and experience the blessedness of the Savior’s birth.
2 Kings Chapter 7 records the account of four Lepers who brought the good news of abundant provisions available in the enemy camp to God’s people who were starving. Upon hearing this and finding it to be true, the nation was saved from starvation.
The Lepers could have contained this news to themselves, however they chose to go back and let all know about the provisions the Lord had reserved for them.
The world is hungry for the good news, they are spiritually starving and daily corrupting, and they need to know the “good News’ about the abundant provision of the Cross and Christ’s resurrection.
As the Shepherds did, so may we find the need, desire and strength to witness and share the goodness and love of the Lord with others.
