You saw your neighbor drive out of his driveway. A few seconds later you hear a big crash. His car has hit a telephone poll. You go to see if your neighbor is okay, and to your astonishment, there is no one in the vehicle or even near it. You walk to their house to see if someone is home. There is no answer. You peek inside a window and notice the kitchen faucet overflowing onto the floor, like someone was just standing there. You then venture around the house and see their other vehicle running but no one is in it. Next you go back to your house to grab your cell phone and report what has happened. Just then a Special News Bulletin comes over your TV saying that millions of people all around the world have vanished, and all at the exact same second. Your thoughts immediately turn to your grandkids. You grab your cell phone (which fortunately still works) to call your daughter. She tearfully tells you frantically that the one and two-year-old also vanished, right before her eyes. You don’t know what to think, but you are scared to death. You call some friends. They, too, have friends who are missing at the exact same moment. They tell you that all the people they knew who claimed to be Christians are also missing. You start to wonder if this is some kind of rapture that those Christians talked about. You recall them saying that there would come a time when all those who had put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ would be taken out of the world without experiencing physical death, before things got really, really terrible on Planet Earth. It really begins to hit you that just maybe all the things Christians told you, and you laughed at, are coming true. They said the Bible prophesied these things 2,000 years ago. All the prophecies were converging at this time, leading up to something called the Great Tribulation Period, where things would be so bad that people wished they were not here. You remember them talking about a world leader called the anti-Christ, Satan in the flesh, who would demand worship in order to buy or sell. You can’t sleep at night and spend every moment wondering how everything is going to play out. But you know it is now too late to escape the judgment that is coming. Hopefully, it will not be too late for you, dear reader, when you read this. Don’t let the “you” in the above episode be you. Accept Jesus now, before you get left behind!
