Rejoicing In Heaven
He Who exists from eternity to eternity, chose to be born of a woman in the very earth which dwells in Him and it was with a blessed purpose which was celebrated by all the heavenly hosts..
“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!””
Luke 2:13-14 (NKJV)
Even while the earth and its inhabitants were yet to fully understand and perceive the good news of the Savior’s birth, heaven knew its impact and gave glory to God foreseeing the peace which will come about and how God’s goodwill towards all will be exhibited and received.
When does heaven rejoice? Are there any specific occasions in heaven for it to rejoice?
“I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” Luke 15 (NKJV)
Heaven rejoices in repentance, reconciliation and reinstatement.
God is always looking forward to save the lost more than to punish them for their evil deeds.
“Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?” Ezekiel 18:23 (NKJV)
While the world seeks the end of the lost, God and they who truly follow the Lord seek their salvation.
Often we are troubled and victimized by those who are lost, yet still there is hope for them, for if they like the Prodigal son would one day come ‘to their senses’, or like Paul who once was a persecutor of the church, yet later an encounter with Christ changed him to become one of the greatest Apostle of the Lord.
When we see the lost within our families, our community and as such, let’s pray for them that God’s Word may change them to be saved and then shall we yet again see heaven rejoicing for a repenting sinner.
