Day 1 (of 366 days) is nearly all spent now; and so, we have entered a new year as well as new decade. Let us pray for #2020Vision and beyond! That we may see with spiritual eyesight. Moreover, let us live as if this year is our last on planet Earth. Do not lose heart! This saying is meant to encourage rather than discourage. Is the bride not better off with her Bridegroom, who loves her with an everlasting love? He paid the ultimate price! In the words of John Newton: “Welcome, then, the call will be to depart and see Thy face: To Thy saints, while here below, with new years, new mercies come; But the happiest year they know is their last, which leads them home.” As the deer panteth for the water, so our souls long for our Redeemer! We look forward to the Year of Jubilee!
The four angels have faithfully held back the winds at the four corners of the Earth till now. Life is a gift and should not be taken for granted. No one is guaranteed to make it to the end of this year. Not one! In humility, we ought to live each single day with gratitude to our merciful Saviour and loving Father. Being alive is not our right. It is a privilege. It is a privilege to breathe, to drink, to eat, to talk, to walk and enjoy good health. For as long as I have breath in my nostrils, I shall praise the name of Jah! For as long as I have use of my fingers, I shall type and share testimonies of what He has wrought in my life. “Then sings my soul, My Saviour, God, to Thee; how great Thou art, how great Thou art!” We cannot afford a ‘business as usual’ attitude anymore. Instead of party after party, let our slogan be: Prayer after prayer!
