"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
This scripture verse is speaking about not placing all our thoughts and hopes into a tomorrow we are never promised.
Each one of us are only given this moment, right now in which to live our faith.
Today ends another year and many will make and break new resolutions. Many will reformulate what brings them meaning and purpose and place a great deal of effort, work and determination on changing or going after new goals.
In this scripture, Jesus is teaching his disciples and us to be aware of the fact, we as humans tend to live towards future goals or hold onto the past and find it difficult to live in our Now. Yet, every day is a new beginning and offers a fresh start.
If we learn to live fully present, consciously embracing each moment as if it were our last, taking every opportunity to enter into God's Spirit, we partake of his divine purposes and discover a depth of meaning.
It is more than possible to grasp this concept as a reality in our lives when we participate in the Spirit-life of Christ who is the One who grants ability and whose life becomes our life --- living in His presence fully attentive, fully awake and fully embracive of each moment as life comes at us.
