The Narrow Gate by Robert Schaetzle
Our Lord admonished us to discern our way through life, purposing to understand correct knowledge. Knowledge that will keep us on God’s narrow path of light to find our way. He calls it transformation. Many are tossed about like a grain a sand on the seashore. ‘Enter by the Narrow Gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.’ Mathew 7:13 NKJV
Solomon, who wrote most of the Book of Proverbs, provides a path of counsel to keep us from stumbling and being tossed about. The rich knowledge of information Solomon provides, reveals what will help us stay our own course. I define Godly wisdom as; seeking discernment of my actions and thoughts through the authority of God’s inspired word. And we know, God don’t make mistakes! “A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:5, 7
We’re challenged to be what God want us to be. Not be influenced by the world around us. To recognize the narrow gate, or path, God would have us find.
“The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.” Psalm 14:1-2
Father, open our eyes to walk the path through you’re ‘Narrow Gate,’ to rest upon the wisdom of your counsel for living.
