Glenn sat in his easy chair, reading the story of the birth of Jesus Christ to Maggie from her children's Bible. When he finished the story, he felt Maggie snuggling on his shoulder and heard her make a soft breathing noise. She had fallen asleep. Glenn smiled and quietly set the Bible on the lampstand beside him, stood up, and began to quietly carry Maggie toward the stairs to her room. Before he got to the stairs, though, he heard the kitchen phone ring. "Who could be calling us so late on Christmas Eve?" he whispered to his sleeping child. Still holding Maggie, he answered the phone. It was the Sergeant. He told Glenn about the break-in at Glenn's office but assured Glenn that no one had been there when it happened. He also said, "You won't be able to believe this, but those guys had a very repentant look on their faces when they were in those patrol cars."
Glenn wondered what that was all about. He thanked the sergeant for telling him, said goodbye and Merry Christmas, and hung up. He was so thankful that no one had been in the office or hurt when the break-in happened. He hugged his daughter close as he continued to carry her to bed. Suddenly a bright light appeared, and the angel from his dreams appeared in the room. Glenn was surprised! The angel told him he was an angel and that he appeared to Jorge and tbe other criminals, and they all repented and received Jesus. He also told him that Maggie had prayed to God and told Him that, for her Christmas presents that year, she wanted to spend more time with her daddy and see him smile again. When the angel left, Glenn stood there for a long time trying to process everything. He gently kissed Maggie's forehead, carried her to her room, and tucked her in.
