Her parents had their own problems. It takes two to tango, its often said. Well when the dance was going great and well coordinated, they produced a lovely beautiful girl. However, when they missed it, they raised girl filled with anger. Now she had began to create her own problems. When her parents couldn’t handle it, they begun to hand out punishments that could be life threatening. Her parents messed up, then she got messed up and the whole house became a messy one.

She had to change homes. She moved out of the house and moved from shelter to shelter. A place to lay her head and rest at night just until she would be able to find herself a permanent place. A couple she met at the shelter finally had their lives together and they invited her to live with them. A safe, refreshing place where she could call home. For months she did call it home and she was truly grateful. It was a covering she could count on, not like the shelters which could get full and leave her cold on the street. She was provided with clothing, food, money and she had someone concerned about her for a change. Life was great.

The change in homes however didn’t seem to change who was or had become after the incident with her family. She didn’t think it had to, because for her, the new home was just a covering over her head, a place to rest her feet and fill her belly. She had not yet been able to reconcile the difference between a home and a shelter. A shelter gave you a covering, but a home did more. A home gave you a covering permanently, kept you safe and groomed you up not only physically but emotionally, spiritually and mentally. So, then a home is really not just about the physical building, its about the people in the building and what goes on within the building. A shelter is however just a building.

She had lived in a “home” with her real parents before but it didnt look anything like what was being described as a home. She had only learned to live in a shelter disguised as a home or a real shelter. And because of that she was finding it difficult to receive training and submit to being groomed into who she is meant to be by her new guardians. Her guardians had in mind from the beginning to give her a home yet all she thought she was getting was a shelter. She was even more annoyed when people couldn’t to reconcile the fact that she lived with the Perrys’, her guardians. When the rules, advice and constant check ups were becoming too much she wanted to move out.

It about that time is when she walked into the house one evening with the light totally out. And this went on for days. Her guardians didn’t seem to do anything about it which bothered her. Apart from the fact that she kept tripping, falling and yelling at herself because she could not see, she had to wake up early to get ready for work when it was still dark, and she couldn’t find the right clothes or get made up. She looked like she lived in the woods every time she got to work and had to hide out to try fix herself up. People were beginning to think she lived on the streets.

She came home one afternoon and told her guardians about how the darkness was affecting her. Instead of having them sympathise and fix the problem, they used it as an opportunity to explain to her what it meant to live in a home and what they desire to give her. Although she lived with her parents, that home was filled with darkness, so all she could do was stumble and fall. The shelter didn’t do any different. But then the home she has now is one filled with Light and that means its going to give her more than a safe place to lay her head. Its going to make her into who God wants her to be. She cannot live in a home filled with Light and walk as if she lives in one filled with darkness. Our home, they said is a full package. You can’t have the shelter without the grooming.

Just then they turned the light on and everything made sense to her.
