I have come to expect the unexpected in God.
He always responds to each one of us with loving mercy. When we enter into prayer, we can be confident and assured God cares, He hears, and He will respond.
God's responses are not always in line with what we expect, what we want, or how we think He will answer. In prayer, my self-made box I place God in, my conception of God and all I think of God dissipates in the light of His majestic, divine holiness.
So, in praying, my role is to continually let go of all I expect of God, learning to trust that no matter what happens, He remains faithful and good. I have learned to not be outcome oriented in what I want, but to be conscious that God is working all things out for my good and in the waiting -- relying and depending on His ability to be my strength is choosing to abide in Him.
Praying is trusting in the unseen but tangible ever steady presence of our God in us - whereby we receive from Him as we openly come to Him - honestly seeking truth.
Prayer is abiding in this mysterious union in God, the place of absolute surrender to His glory. In God we discover this space where we come for solace and comforted refuge. We touch and taste of His holiness, longing to be nearer, closer, deeper in His fullness.
In prayer God's holy fire burns off flesh tendencies, misplaced wanting, skewed understanding of scriptures where he ushers us into spiritual insights, we can gain no other way.
In prayer we unite with the Godhead whose love dwells in the three persons of the Trinity: God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit. This union is forever being revealed in and through us as we learn the art of abiding in fellowshipping and communing in our alone time with them.
All of whom we are becoming as a Christian overflow as a direct result of our intimacy in this Godhead. In the apprenticeship of prayer, godly fruits become the benefits that stream in a continual transformation in our hearts from the ebb and flow of God's Spirit passing through ours.
Our journey is one of discovering. Discovering the depth of wisdom in God in His unlimited well where the reserves never go dry, become depleted or run out, is my desired gain.
Each time we meet with God, His Spirit washes, renews and refreshes our Spirit with His holiness and we become regenerated by His continual cleansing being performed in our inner realms.
God's fire sears through deception and blindness, shining love and mercy in those places, revealing spiritual truths, bringing us into alignment with His living Word who becomes our life.
There is no other God who bestows to us such goodness, such holiness, such forgiveness, such mercy and such untainted, pure, chaste, divine, supernatural and most holy love.
Today if you need a touch from God, stop your business, cease your activity and come into the throne room of the heavenly, taking time to sit at His feet and touch the hem of His garments.
My assurance, my confidence and my hope are in knowing God is truth and love. And no matter the tunnel, no matter the obscurity, no matter the difficulty and no matter whether I understand or not, God remains truth and He remains loving ALL the time.
