Faithfully Waiting To Be Blessed
God desires goodness in us and His heart seeks our righteousness, however do we not as a result of this seek blessedness and fruitfulness?
Zacharias and Elizabeth (parents of John the Baptist) were faithful to God and lived blameless before Him, yet experienced barrenness in their life as they had no children..
“And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.” Luke 1:6-7 NKJV
God has a perfect plan and time for our blessedness and when we receive it in accordance with His plan the blessedness perfectly fits in filling in the gap and bringing us more close to His dearest love.
Often walking faithfully we wonder why the barrenness persists, yet let our hearts be encouraged and know this that the Lord takes into account our faithfulness and our obedience and if we patiently wait upon Him, He will surely provide the best for us.
The Lord blessed Zacharias and Elisabeth with a son who grew up to be John the Baptist, he was a prophet of the Lord and was sent by God with the blessed task of preparing the way for the Lord.
“I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.”
Psalms 40:1-3 NKJV
