Dear Timothy (actually you),
I am writing this letter to you, not as your spiritual mother, but as a sister in Christ. I’m just as a fellow Believer. I am reminding you of that gift you have inside of you. Yes, the Holy Spirit, but also that one word that was planted in good soil. You have a soil that is rich, soft, deep, and free. You are one who is bringing forth a harvest. But maybe its 30-fold and it could be 100-fold. This letter is to you and not the hardened one or the shallow one or the encumbered one. This is for the one still running the race well but the stepped in some doggie doo doo but kept going.
I am just reminding you that you can stir your gift up. Make sure you are getting training for your specific gift. Spend some time in the things that give both you and God pleasure. Give up the things that once worked but are no longer bringing forth life. Find your way back to passion within your purpose. Discover the new thing and new way Jesus is moving in your life.
Yeah, Satan tried to steal your joy by trying to get you off your focus. He tried to get you to do what everyone is doing though God had something else for you. He sent doom and gloom about the World’s future and then the nation’s future and then your future and then your family’s... He sent some people to let you down and bring you down and take you down and... Some were religious and some were worldly people baiting you in the rat race. Some were occult tools. Some were just judging you out of their own temperament and have no clue about your heart or your life circumstances. You’d tell them but they would use it against you because they have never had victory. But you have a testimony or two or three. In fact, you have many. Remind yourself of them.
So, you, with the sprouts popping out of the soil on this sweet spring day. Keep up the praying and keep up the proclaiming. Keep pouring it out in the way you are designed. You are unique and not another Model T Ford from another era. You are the new wine and the new sound. You are the new thing.
You have His heart but you need to pray for more capacity to love and pray and prophesy and discern and preach and evangelize. You need to make sure you are charged up before you step out and up. You need the current of Jesus pulsating through you so you can flow and glow in His Spirit.
In other words, fan into flame that unique gift of yours. Quit the generic thing and let your freak flag fly. Be zealous but be wise. Be brave and be kind. Be the best blessing in your neighborhood or circle or sphere of influence. Do it secretly and openly. You don’t need another pair of tennis shoes; so just do it.
