The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
As we navigate our society, it is filled with obstacles that are designed to shake our faith and confidence in God. Today's text reminds us that we are to trust in God and fear no man because the Lord is our strength; He is our shelter in the time of storm; He is our refuge, and He has built a fence around us.
Even when war with the enemy rises us against us, we are to have confidence in the Lord. The Lord is true to His promise of never to leave nor forsake us; His own. He keeps all of His promises. God has proven Himself to be trustworthy. God is no shorter than His Word; when He asks us to cast all of our cares upon (1 Peter 5:7) take Him at His Word. God reassures with these words; For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock (v.5).
True confidence and protection are in the Lord God Almighty.
