In several of his speeches, Duterte, president of the Philippines, mocked God and said if he was God he would not allow himself to be crucified but will bring down lightning on the people who were torturing him. After that he said that this "God is stupid" and he cursed God. "A good man brings forth good things out of the good stored in his heart. An evil man brings evil out of the evil stored in his heart." (Luke 6:45)
Duterte shows his ignorance of Who God is and why Jesus Christ had to die on the Cross. He is spiritually blind and mouths empty rhetoric to make it appear that he is wise but in truth - he is a FOOL.
"For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18)
The tragedy of it all is that Filipinos, and even some Christians who listen to him, laugh at his jokes and think he is right. The same ignorance supports the ignorant leader.
On facebook and social media the same boorish, insolent, godless mentality proliferate in support of Duterte, who mocks God. Any negative comment against Duterte will result in online bashing and accusations - either "you are a drug addict, a drug lord, a communist, a LP supporter, a yellowtard," etc. etc.
Those who are adept at spiritual warfare will discern that there is a spirit of rebellion and evil being spread by the man in Malacanang Palace. It is contagious. What do we do about it?
The Bible says we wrestle not with flesh and blood but against rulers, principalities and powers of darkness in this world, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12) In the book "Territorial Spirits" Peter Wagner discussed the evil spirits and the hierarchy of demons that control governments around the world. How can we fight this?
We use the Sword of the Spirit - the Word of God. We use PRAYER and bind these forces of evil in the Name of JESUS. Jesus gave us authority over evil - let us exercise that authority. "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions. and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you." (Luke 10:19)
To say that Duterte is possessed by a demon is to put it mildly. He has admitted before international media that he abused his medication Fentanyl, an opioid drug, and that he killed a man by pushing him out of a helicopter. He has ordered the killing of thousands without the benefit of a court trial, in extra-judicial killings (EJK) in his drug war.
As a man speaks, so is he. "God will not be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." (Galatians 6:7)
Jesus Christ is the Light of this world. He is the Alpha and Omega. Men are but a breath, like mists that are here today and tomorrow are gone. Jesus Christ lives forever. "In Him was life and that Light was the light of all mankind. The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it."
"The fool says in his heart there is no God." (Psalm 14:1) "The way of a fool seems right in his own eyes .." (Proverbs 12:15) "The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves but a fool blurts our folly." (Proverbs 12:23)
