The stones shall make the way

O how I lamented, complained & did say

Thy blessedness in my life doth not stay

For I do see Thy goodness coming in O Lord,

Yet quickly they are washed away.

My fields are bare and no one cares,

The weeds do flourish all along the way

Why I am not able to contain Thy blessedness?

O Lord, help me understand this I pray.

Here and there, there are those stones

Whose worth I have never known,

And little did I care to know,

These stones to me mean nothing more

There came a man of God one day

I purposed then to seek his guide,

Tell me saint what should I do

That blessing in my life shall abide.

Here are there he looked along,

Humming the tune of a hopeful song,

“These stones shall make the way”

Having said this he went away.

I looked at them again to behold

How can these stones make a way,

Far beyond my finite thought was this

Lord explain this mystery to me I pray

Suddenly I felt the pouring rain,

And again the waters drifted to the weeds,

Without enough waters in my field,

Again shall die all my seed

In desperation I kicked a stone which lay,

And saw it went and blocked the way

To a little channel that went to the weeds

And now the water was directed to my seeds

I quickly picked up all the stones,

And kept them now in perfect array

Blocking the flow to the worthless weeds

The waters now flowing to my fields that day

The crops were flourishing and the weeds went dry

The stones did finally made the way,

Remember what was said in the proverb for us

“Do not remove the ancient stones away.”

We have the commands of the Lord,

Which help us to walk the narrow way,

Yet often we do not consider their worth

And do not use them everyday

Read the Word and believe the promise,

Set your hearts on the Lord’s commands I pray

For sure this will work true in your life too

The stones (God’s commands) shall surely make the way.
