A ‘New Man’ in Christ
‘Set guards’, ‘Position the battalion’, ‘Make ready the strong chariots’
Probably this would have been the command on that day,
When the angel of death was passing through Egypt,
Pharaoh’s defense could not stop its sway.
Yet stop they did and bypassed that door
On whose tops and frames the blood was applied,
Obedience to God was the demand at that time,
‘And always will be the same’, this is implied.
No one could stop the judgement of God,
When His anger is stirred and His wrath is displayed,
In vain will we hold our defense against Him,
Doom and destruction for us will be laid
Yet He does stop and His anger is gone,
When He sees repentance in a humble soul,
To be washed by the blood of the Lamb of God (Jesus),
May this be our lives most important goal.
There is redemption, mercy and peace,
For all those seek Him with all their heart,
They shall keep their souls from death,
And saved shall they be from God’s wrath
Let’s not be a fool to rise up against,
The judgement of God which is sure to come,
Let’s be found a ‘New Man’ in Christ,
For that is what God wants us to become.
