IRELAND

I have walked your fields in memories
Or dreams or something else
And I've witnessed countless battles
Twixt the Vikings and the Kelts,
I have stood on Cliffs of Moher
I have splashed in the waters of Torc
Beheld the hills of Ulster
Breathed in the air of Cork.

I once flew above your Isle
On the wings of an eagle of metal
Ah, the green of the fields and the sun on the rills
Was a sight that I'll cherish forever,
If I die in this land of America
It's alright for I've loved her so long
But it feels like an ancient voice calls me,
"Come back Irish man to your home."

In nighttime a banshee does wail
'Tis the season of Domhnall the Gael
I'll return to my ancestral baile
And regard the Hibernian tale
Of the faeries and brownies and such
And a country I've loved oh, so much
Though I've never set foot on your soil
You have sent my blood to the boil
May it be in the Master's plan
That I settle in old Ireland.
