The Omniscience Of God Is Both Scary And Comforting God knows everything, forgets nothing and sometimes acts immediately. He chastens us in his love. He cannot be fooled and does not wink at our behavior. This should cause us to remember that it is because of his mercy, long-suffering, and patience that it seems he does not act immediately. To many it appears he does not care. but that is not so. We should not tempt God. Two Sides Of The Same CoinIf You Are Walking With Him He Offers Comfort And Protection. If You Are Walking In Darkness Expect Chastening or delayed judgment. Two stories Sarah and Ananias and Sapphira Is There Such A Thing As Thought-Lie? If You Commit A Thought Lie Is That Sin?Are there such a thing as a little lie?
Man was created with a mind and a heart. What goes on in the mind and heart is invisible to man but not to God. Sarah was caught in a thought lie. She laughed in her head. So when she was accused of laughing by the angel, she denied laughing.read the story in Genesis 18:12-15 (KJV)
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? 13 And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. 15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
Technically she did not laugh (out loud) and was not lying. What do you think? Maybe she thought that the angel was a man and so he couldn’t see her thoughts and intents of her heart. Maybe she thought that she could get by with that thought l---Maybe she thought no one knows what I was thinking or feeling. Technically she said nothing. It is my secret. If I was in a court of law they could not say I committed perjury.
Ananias, with Sapphira, his wife: In The Book Of Acts We See That When We Lie, We Do Not Lie To Man But To God. Many lies are not rewarded immediately. This lie was immediately dealt with because God had to make an example to the early church.
Acts 5:1-11 (KJV) 5 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. 7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. 9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. 11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things. The Omniscient Of God Is Both Comforting And Scary. -----Hebrews 4:12 KJV For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discern-er of the thoughts and intents of the heart. -----1 Corinthians 4:5 (KJV) 5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. -----Ecclesiastes 8:10-12 (KJV) 10 And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity. 11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
