But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian,….. Exodus 2:15 NASB
Life can get rough sometimes, everything seems great, then before you know it life begins to fall apart. I think its exactly how Moses felt as he took a long trip through the desert. He was the prince of Egypt living in comfort and luxury, not a shepherd living in tents. Not only was it a different environment, it was a life he wasn’t prepared for and had no shepherding skill. We sometimes find ourselves in such situations and it's difficult to handle it.
Most of us would either take to complaining about having to be a shepherd or give the excuse that we don’t have what it takes. However, that shouldn’t be our attitude. Though difficult, we should learn to work at whatever God places before us, all the while trusting in His wisdom. The reason being that He always has a plan. The only way Moses could come to know God was for him to leave Egypt. And though life seemed to have come to an end, it was the beginning of something, even more, greater than the Lord had planned ahead. We need to trust the Lord and walk that confusing path with our gaze on Jesus. All the while being faithful with everything He has handed over to you however little or difficult as we wait for Him to propel us to higher heights. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts not our thoughts. But they are always better than our ways and thoughts.
