…………., those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. 2 John 1: 7 NASB

The rise in technology and social media has come with it some disadvantages and advantages. One major advantage is the spread of the word of God across different places in the world. There are numerous sermons and videos on different social media platforms since many people are able share their understanding of God’s word with others. There is so much information out there and though good can pose a problem if we are not careful.

As we seek to know more about God by gaining a deeper understanding of His word, we should always remember to screen the words we hear with the word of God. By the help of the Holy Spirit we would be able to know who the deceiver is because the word of God has given us a vivid description of who he is. The deceiver is the one who doesn’t acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God. This truth may not always be vividly spelt out in every information we obtain. Though it is an ultimate truth which shouldn’t change in any instance, it is likely to be altered by people as they try to explain other biblical concepts and truths.

This therefore requires that we become more cautious, paying particular attention to what we hear because our relationship with God and other people will be influenced by the information we feed ourselves with. This is the truth, Jesus is the Son of God who came to the earth to save us. We should not forget, ignore or take this truth lightly but diligently stand by it. Our salvation and hope is centred on this truth.
