Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:2 NIV

These greeting words of Paul to the believers at Philippi reveal two blessings God gives to those who belong to Him.

First, God bestows a manifestation of favor. Is it not so amazing that the creator of the universe looks favorably upon us, who are here today and gone tomorrow. He bestows favor upon us, as we are called children of God. We are united to the Heavenly Father through His perfect plan. Jesus Christ shed His blood for us, that through His sacrifice we might be reunited to our Father in Heaven. If this does not show favor to us, then nothing else could do so either. This world can offer no favor as can our Father in Heaven. Favors of this world are short-lived and non-satisfying. Favor offered by our creator is eternal and fulfilling.

Peace is elusive unless it is found in God. This world promises peace, but, it is conditional. It can be here today and gone tomorrow. The peace which lies within the heart of the believer is everlasting. Sure, we will face trials and tribulation, but, the peace of God remains with us.  

Remain in God, and be showered in His grace and peace.
