We all know that it is the love behind any action that counts more than the action itself. The action maybe be either big or a small one but the love behind it is always of a great proportion. When people meet a simple hand shake expresses the depth of their friendship far above the formality of the action. The warmth of the hand of one leaves a lingering warmth on the palm of the other. A hug between two people is based on the length of the relationship that is shared between them which runs down the years thickening the impact and meaning of that hug. Only the persons involved know and realise the full extent and love behind this action. It is not merely a physical embrace but a love packed action hug.At times the people around them will never have a single clue as to the layers of emotions that exist between them. When people lend a helping hand to others even the smallest deed counts as much as a big deed because it is done in total and pure love. And what more can be said about the action of the eyes? It excels above all other expressions. One gaze acts as a strong messenger to convey the words contained in the heart and soul.We see in the Gospel of Luke 21:1-4; how Jesus was observing all those who came to put their offerings in the Temple Treasury. He significantly points out to a widow who puts in two copper coins as the one who has put in the highest amount because this woman gave her all and the best to God whereas the others put in from what was left of their wealth. In the Old Testament when God gave the law to Moses, he clearly commanded the people to bring in their best and first offerings to God.Truly this widow worshipped God in love and truth as whatever she had was given to her by God himself. In this new electronic age where every morning we receive countless messages wishing us a good day it is simply the remembrance and wishes of the sender bearing the thoughts and well wishes for the recepient when they awake in the morning. A lovely thought in action! Some truly beautiful phrases which are noteworthy to mention and conveys it all are; 1) "A morning is a wonderful blessing either cloudy or sunny. It stands for hope, giving us another start of what we call life."2)"I pray that happiness be at your door. May it knock early, leave late and leave the gift of God's peace, love, joy and good health with you. Wishing you a beautiful and blessed day in the Lord."3) "Every morning God says; One more time, Live life, make a difference, Touch one's heart, Encourage one mind and inspire one soul. Have a lovely morning. God bless you."4) "The sweetest moment in life comes not with the greetings you receive but with the thought that someone wishes the best for you everyday. Count me as one of the well-wishers who wish the very best for you everyday."Similarly when gifts are presented to others, it is the love behind the thought of giving the gift which is greater than the gift.As a famous phrase reads; "The wise lover recognises not the value of the gift as much as the love of the giver."Though of course our presence is always the best present we can give anyone. We have all heard of King Alexander the Great. When he was on his dying bed, he made a very unusual request to his advisers. He had three last wishes. One was that his coffin should be carried by his personal physicians to prove that though they served him with dedication and zeal during his lifetime maintaining his health, it was ultimately God who had the final say over life and death. His second wish was that all his wealth should be scattered on the path when his coffin was being carried out to show that contrary to the wealth he had amassed in his lifetime, it would now go to others. His third and last wish was that his hands should be dangling outside his coffin to show the world that he came empty handed into this earth and would leave empty handed.Strange actions but meaningful ones worth pondering over!Another famous King Solomon when he was asked by God as to what he desired the most, he asked God for Wisdom rather than asking him for wealth or long life or victory over his enemies. God was so pleased with his request for Wisdom that in addition to this he granted him the other blessings as well which he had not asked for.A very moving verse that comes to mind from a popular song magnifying a high form of love in action is; " What purpose can eyes that smile and laugh achieve if there are no tears in those eyes? The ocean may as well be very deep but nothing is deeper than love."Greatly expressed! Tears need not be in one's eyes only in times of sadness. Tears can be pre-dominant even in happy times to express the totality of happiness. Most of all tears is that wonderful and nostalgic medium that rises in the eyes when the emotions contained in the heart surges forth, when the soul is engulfed with a love so magnanimous that the same tears celebrate the ecstatical feelings of a strong and mighty love anointing the eyes with the Spirit of love that can only be manifested in us by a Great God above who brings to the fore the realisation and knowledge of love just as He loved us to the core of His heart and pierced to the Cross. Tears are the soulful gifts of a heart filled with an intense love.Romans 12:1 tells us that we should offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God dedicated to his service and pleasing to Him. The gift of our heart, mind and soul is the best way to worship and be grateful to God for his constant love and protection to us all the days of our life wherein both our love and action will be of infinite value in the eyes of God.
