“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon the earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:25-26, NKJ). David was a “man after God’s own heart,” but Asaph, who penned this Psalm, was not far behind David in his love for God. Have we ever allowed God as Asaph did in his life, to be our sole desire, our sole strength and our sole portion forever. If you have, then you will find yourself reading of the greatest commandment “You shall love the Lord, etc.,” and you will recognize yourself in it. You will find yourself loving and being devoted to God as becoming the greatest reality of your life, thus you will have found Life Himself, Jesus Christ in all His fullness dwelling within you. We always speak of all our dreams, but this actually is God’s greatest dream, that we are living out His greatest commandment in our very lives.
Once we allow this verse by God’s grace, to become a part of who we are in relation to God, then when our lives are spiraling out of control, we will find within ourselves an amazing strength and peace. That is, that the very strength and peace of God Himself, has become our own and His together. This will then transfer to every area of our lives and this is what we will bring into our relationships. Know that God is good, trust in Him always and allow God’s greatest commandment to become the greatest reality of your life, before anyone or anything else. Again, we can have this, it’s meant for us to have, so enter into the greatest commandment and live it out. In other words, live out the life Christ died on the cross for us to live out (love to God), and we will live our lives to the fullest.
