Christ and they who are like Him.
Today there many followers of Christ known as Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox etc..do they really know Whom they are following and are they like Him?
The masses at the time of Jesus revolted against Him and crucified Him (only for Him to rise again the third day)
C.S.Lewis, the famous author of many Christian books and also the author of the famous book “The Chronicles of Narnia” said this in his book “Mere Christianity”….
“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”
By Who Jesus was and by what He did, we know Who God is and how He works…
The Pharisees (the keepers and defenders of the law) often opposed Christ and His ways…
“Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.”” John 9:16 NKJV
The above opposition was for the very reason that Jesus healed a blind man on Sabbath.
For the Pharisees the Sabbath (law) was more important, however for Jesus the blind man (for whom the law was made) was more important.
When people sometimes fail to come to the church, fail to greet us on some occasions, do not open up with others, do we not conclude them as unholy, ill-mannered and proud, have we ever bothered to know the truth with the presumption that they are good or are we too quick to put the Pharisee hat and pass the unwanted judgments?
Those who belong to Christ are expected to be like Him, we are expected to function with genuine love and concern.
You might be rejected for standing out of trend as was our blessed Lord, but time will prove that you did the right thing.
The world needs comfort and genuine love and that can be had only from Christ and from them who are like Him.
God Bless,
Abraham
