In the early 60's, 93% of the American population polled believed in God. 40 years later the updated poll indicated that the number of God believers had dropped to 63 %. The more troubling aspect of this decline is that the amount of Americans that believed there is NO God, jumped from 3% in the 60's to 30% in the early 2000's. For the 1st time in the history of North America, less than 14% of children are being brought up in families that believe in God or attendance at church; Parents that don't instill a healthy fear of God into their children. Even our best educational facilities have effectively locked God out of their classrooms.*. *. *.
Whether one agrees with Creation or is devoutly atheistic, it could effectively be argued that mankind, without any belief in God, is a mankind that lives in perpetual unaccountability. Of course there are exceptions. That goes without saying. But if there is NO God, particularly in the minds of the young and impressionable, there is correspondingly no fear of ramifications for acts of perversion or dishonesty or atrocity. Or for that matter, NO God means no fear of God and ultimately, in the minds of those that don't believe, there is a perception that actions are no longer subject to evaluation. Despite every prominent religion on earth believing that ones soul is unfazed by the inevitable reality of death, a massive portion of mankind chooses to live apart from God. ********* There's things that always troubled me about the concept of 'Karma'. Karma is relatively accepted amongst the general population. In fact more people than not would likely vouch for Karma as a life relevance. But really? Karma.!? Believing in Karma for real, means believing in a supernatural equalizer; some universal entity that inexplicably rights wrongs. An unseen, undefinable commuter of justice. Something 'out there' that can literally reach into the lives and destinations of mankind, and not only influence outcomes, but literally balance the scales when it comes to fairness and reaping what one has sown.
But wait! Why are people so readily prepared to believe in Karma, despite its absolute lack of basis ? Why Karma but not God? Surely the supposition of God is far more explainable than the concept of Karma. Well the answer is simple. The Enemy is not challenged nor defensive when it comes to Karma. Karma is a man made substitution for the only entity that truly disrupts the enemy. He need not waste his time desperately uprooting Karma, when his truest adversary is already more than he can handle. After all, the entire concept of Karma can only be traced back to one source. And that deceptive source is far too busy sowing discord amongst the Children of God and those on the verge of accepting Christ, to be bothered casting doubts on a fictional concept that he himself created. *. *. *. Its inevitable, that expunging God from our schools and workplaces and even from our kitchen tables, will result in chaos. The late teens and early twenties, are a new breed of characters. Heavily exposed to violence in video games, and prematurely exposed to online porn, this generation is bombarded with soul crushing entertainment, and unlimited depictions of sex and violence. Any child that grows up amidst these relentless bombardments is sure to be influenced by the celebration of violence and the false perceptions of sexual promiscuity. Christian parents, in a matter of 2 short generations, went from being disturbed by what would now be the considerably harmless gyrations of Elvis, and the compelling melodies of The Beatles, to the blatantly perverse pseudo pornography of the Gaga's and the Minage's and the Miley Cyrus's, that are now entertaining their children. *. *. *.
Since the death and subsequent resurrection of Christ, Christians have presumed they were living in the 'last days' leading up to the rapture of the Church. Even the Disciples ( Luke 21 ) believed that Jesus' return was imminent. But To God, Who is everlasting, time is not measured in days or weeks or months. 2 Peter 3:8 says that to God, one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day. Clearly, God exists outside the boundaries of time as we know it. So my point is this: if the God we serve dwells in a realm outside of our understanding, how can we ever predict what He is likely to do next? Or for that matter, when He is likely to do anything, when it comes to His return to earth to rapture His church ? Well the answer is graciously clear. The early church was not equipped to comprehend Scripture the way that we can now. Knowledge has created maps and linguistics and ultimately given Scripture modern day relevance, based on its eternal truth. Words spoken by ancient prophets, like Ezekiel or Daniel or Micah, are defying even the most aggressive opponents of Scripture, standing true against the tests of time. But it is here and now, that the Enemy wages his fiercest campaign against the proponents of Truth. And what better way to delude the masses than to convince them that there is NO God. For in the absence of belief in God, there is a naturally fuelled vacuum. For God has always been the referee. The adjudicator. The ultimate righter of wrongs. Without Him, mankind might mistakingly presume that even the most atrocious acts will forever go unpunished. For if there is NO God, then to whom or what would mankind answer? *. *. *. I watched CNN this morning and for what seems the thousandth time, a confused and misguided young man, armed to the teeth, wandered into a school full of defenceless children and began to kill them. In less than 3 minutes this lunatic murdered 7 kids and 2 teachers. He severely injured many others before turning a gun on himself, blowing his own brains out. I have to believe that this 18 year old man believed that there is NO God. His actions defied any belief in eternal punishment for his heinous crimes. He knew going in that local police and the judicial system would never hold him accountable. Because he knew he would die in the process of creating incredible pain and mayhem for countless families. But NO God meant no accountability. No consequences. No judgement. No ultimate ramifications for his demonic behaviour.*********
The enemy has a TO DO list that he's desperately trying to fill and in the face of very limited time. His days are numbered and unlike God, his days are countable and definable and rapidly closing in. 'NO God' is the enemy's final battle cry, his desperate attempt to lead as many souls as possible, right to the gates of Hell while he still can.
