“Keep awake, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” (Matthew 25:13 NRSV)
Christ’s second coming is a news of hope for those who diligently seek His will in all areas of their life. They prepare themselves for that great glorious appearance of the Almighty and Everlasting King who is coming to take with Him to heaven those who live a life of complete dedication and obedience to God. “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 HCSB)
Whenever the body of Christ, literally the Church, faces various trials, its only hope is the coming of its Lord. If death means the end of one’s existence and there were no life after that, there would be no meaning at all for life itself. But our gracious God has prepared for us eternal dwellings in heaven where we will reach after we die or when Christ comes, whatever happens first.
“And so, my friends, as you wait for that Day, do your best to be pure and faultless in God’s sight and to be at peace with him.” (2 Peter 3:14 TEV)
Jesus came to this world and gave His life as a ransom for mankind. On the third day He rose again from the dead. After appearing to many devout people, He ascended to heaven, the place from where He had come. Presently He is interceding on our behalf to the Father as well as preparing a place for us in heaven.
This greatest privilege of residing in heaven with the Lord Jesus is available to everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus and asks Him to forgive their sins and invites Jesus into their hearts. Anyone who has done so is obliged to obey God’s word, which means, the Bible. Being ready for Christ’s coming simply means to do what the Bible says.
Friend, if you have not yet tasted the love of God, just believe in your heart that God loves you and that the blood of His Son which was shed on the cross is powerful enough to cleanse you of all your sins. With this faith, invite Jesus into your hearts asking Him to make you clean washing away all your sins. Just talk to Him as you talk to any other person whom you love. Just remember that prayer is the outpouring of our hearts before our Creator and Redeemer. God is not concerned with the beauty of words but with the contents of the heart.
In this last hour of the last days, temptations are arising from all sides. Many people are denying their faith and getting trapped in the schemes of the devil. But for us, let us be different.
