In India, many say, “Dil ek Mandir Hai” meaning your heart is a temple. However, there is no mention of a god in his temple. As man worships many gods, each for a different purpose, then the question arises, which god’s spirit indwells in the man’s heart? Man has only one spirit in his body then which god’s spirit out of the three hundred thousands of gods is going to empower his spirit to know His will, mind and emotions. . The creation of God has a purpose. It has a role to play in our lives but not to become gods. Now, whom are we worshipping? The Creator or what He has created? There are no idols in heaven for their will to be done on the earth (Romans 2:26).Therefore, the question “who created this human being?” arises. Why did He create man and woman? Man has mind, will and emotion in his body. One is able to feel, think and has the will to do. You are gifted with the ability to choose what you want to do. All this you are, because you are a created human being. I am sure you all know and agree it is God and that means you know there is God. Now God is Spirit and He has no form. How we then know that there is God? How do we understand His mind, His emotions and His will? We can know God when we look at the created universe, together with the moon, stars, sun, land, sea, a variety of animals and trees.
So when God created us as His children, He created us as with mind, will and emotion in His likeness and when we say He created us it means that God too has a mind, will and emotions and so we as human beings have received His likeness in us. We also know we breathe His breath and so in Him is our life and our death. All this and much more prove there is God, the Creator
God created mankind, He gave His likeness so that we operate in His will, mind and emotions. Our heavenly Father too has a mind and emotion and will, so He thought who will take charge of all His creation. So as He thought, in His mind, His emotions arose and so He willed to bring forth man and woman. Our Father made us with all His love to be His children.
God is love. God made man to be caretaker of His Creation. He created us with a body, soul and spirit. So that by His Spirit He could indwell in us to have an interactive relationship with us on the earth, to do His will in His ways. God created man and woman as unique beings capable of communicating with Him. The man says, “Dil ek Mandir Hai”. The Bible says our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
When as believers of Lord Jesus Christ, we say, “Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit” it certainly means that the spirit of Lord Jesus Christ resides in us. Lord Jesus empowers our human spirit to live in His ways, do His will on the earth as it is in heaven. God by His spirit gives us an interactive relationship so that He could indwell in us and thus be with us on the earth to help and bless us.
The question is have idols ever cared for you? Can the idols predict the things to come or can they speak? Will these idols provide what we are asking or looking for. Let the idols tell us what happened long ago or what the future holds. Can these idols of wood or statues of stone tell of a cure for human depravity? A man worships idols, but then to know their present and future situations, one approaches an astrologer. Idols don’t talk. How can they? Can man made image ever portray a God so great? The rich man makes his idol of precious gold and silver while the poor man makes his by wood or stone. Nothing can ever capture the greatness of the Creator. Do wood or stone statues have mind, will or emotions as man has been given from the time of creation?
The prophet directs us to use our reason as well as our senses to consider who created the earth and all that is in it and find out as to whom our allegiance is to be with. (Isaiah 40:18-20). There is nothing in idols, worthy of regards. (Isaiah 41:21-23). Therefore, examine whether your body is the temple for the Holy Spirit or is your body the mandir for the idols? Ponder as to who can fill you with what and what you want to be filled with.Only through Jesus the Father hears and answers our prayers. By His Spirit in us we hear what God says. God made us and not we ourselves. This privilege of relationship is given by God’s grace to man and not to idols or any other created thing. For this God took the ultimate step towards fellowship with us, through His historic visit to this earth in the person of His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus made us know God as our Father in a personal way. You are living on the earth created by God, living in His likeness under the His control. God understands us so intimately. So think, who are you in relationship to the Creator- the living God or the idols.
