Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love all the colored leaves, the cooler temperatures, the fairs, festivals and holidays. Looking at the trees with all their beautiful colors reminds me that God created this beautiful world for us.
He also created a man and a woman. Then in one weak moment, man gave in to temptation and sin entered the world. God, however, still wanted to have a relationship with man. Therefore, He made a plan.
God’s plan was to come to earth in the human form of his son, Jesus Christ. Once on earth, Jesus spent thirty-two years telling about His Heavenly Father. At the end of that time, he willingly allowed men to beat him and hang Him on a cross where He took all the sins of the world, sins that had been committed, sins that were being committed and sins that would be committed by each person who lived or would live upon the earth. Then He gave His life so that we would have the means to everlasting life with Him. We know this because He told us in the Bible: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
God could have made us like little robots that would automatically worship and serve Him. But instead, He gave us the freedom to choose or reject Him. It is up to each one of us to make that choice. The decision on whether or not to accept Him as your Savior, also has consequences; eternal ones that determine where you will spend eternity.
Just remember that the final choice is ours. There are no gray areas; it is a yes or no type of question. I pray that you say yes to Jesus, there has never been anyone who has ever regretted that decision.
Dear Father, thank You for allowing us the freedom to choose You. I pray that everyone I love has said yes to You. In Jesus’s name, amen.
