“You were given this life because you were strong enough to live it.” -Unknown
Thompson Square - If I Didn’t Have You https://youtu.be/UptgRHX4JsI
I am continually amazed at her strength, her resolve, her determination to beat this dreaded disease called cancer; and in doing so, she is showing the world the power of Christ, as He continues to help her overcome every obstacle that comes her way; and it’s because I have seen this amazing power working in and through her life, that I have faith God is setting the stage to perform a great miracle in our midst.
One thing God knows about me is that I am completely and utterly, head over heels, in love with my wife. 26 years together and I love her more every day. I WILL NOT even entertain the thought of losing her. She has been trying to get me to go buy burial plots. Every time she brings it up, she doesn’t know it, but in my mind I am saying, “get behind me Satan!” I know we will all die at some point, and I know it’s responsible to plan ahead. But, NOT NOW! Right now, I want Janice’s EVERY thought on living, because I honestly can’t even imagine a life without her by my side. Right now I CHOOSE to stay positive and can’t remember when I have been more excited. Yesterday was day 1,261 we have been in this war, and God has filled me with so much hope. The great news we received yesterday, about being approved for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, I believe will be a day I will one day write about, as the day her healing truly began. So right now, those burial plots will just have to wait, and once VICTORY is proclaimed once and for all, then we can make our final arrangements.
A friend asked last night if there was anything we needed. Other than continued prayers, I just cannot think of a single need we have. I know it sounds strange, but Philippians 4:19 does say, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” and He has done just that. Yes. We have more medical bills than we can pay in a lifetime, but who cares. It’s all God’s money anyway. If that is how He wants us to spend it, why should I lose any sleep over it. I am just grateful we both have decent jobs and can afford to make monthly payments; and you cannot even imagine what a blessing Janice’s insurance has been. Our out of pocket cost have been minimal compared to the hundreds of thousands dollars we could have owed if we didn’t have such great insurance. So friends, while I sincerely appreciate all the offers to help us, your prayers, love and continued moral support is really all we need.
Let me end this mornings message with this scripture the Lord led me to, that reminds me so much of Janice’s battle.
Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10
