We are not going to change the whole world, but we can change ourselves and feel free as birds. We can be serene even in the midst of calamities and, by our serenity, make others more tranquil. Serenity is contagious. If we smile at someone, he or she will smile back. And a smile costs nothing. We should plague everyone with joy. If we are to die in a minute, why not die happily, laughing?― Swami Satchidananda
Today, I want to talk about finding peace in the midst of a storm. Yesterday evening my sister Debbie called and gave some disturbing news about her husbands battle with cancer. Read Here https://www.facebook.com/debra.mccain.3/posts/10205034621398813?fref=nf&pnref=story
I went to the Lord this morning and the following is what He gave me. I pray they, as well as any of you now going through difficult times, will find comfort in knowing, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!. God is ALWAYS with His children, especially in the midst of a storm.

There are many passages on this subject in God’s Holy Word, but none more important than Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“
When tragedy strikes, we quickly realize just how powerless we are; and it is then that all theology gets thrown out the window. Even many atheist, at that moment of crisis, will cry out to God. Those who know my testimony will remember, that is why I am here today; it was at that moment, when I was ready to check out of this world, that something inside of me cried out to a God I DID NOT know. From that moment on, I have never really struggled in the area of faith. God has NEVER given me a reason. My book is just a small sampling of the countless times God has come to our rescue. If there is one thing He has proven over and over in our lives, it’s that HE IS FAITHFUL.
So, why should we ever worry? We have to understand, what is happening is a part of His divine plan. We don’t have to like it, and believe me, these last 5+ years have been a continual test of our faith. But you see, we KNOW that, and we WILL NOT allow our circumstances to dictate how we live our lives. Now if God decides He is ready to take my Angel, just like I felt was happening on February 13th, He and I are going to have a disagreement, and I will, just like I did then, plead for her to stay with me. In Genesis 18:23-33, Abraham was able to change God’s mind, so why can’t we? Hebrews 13:8 tells us that God is the same yesterday and today—and forever! So, if we serve the same God Abraham did, why should we be afraid to boldly come before Him and plead our case?
I think what is all boils down to do is our relationship with God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 is key here. It says, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” Every word in this verse is crucial to us finding peace, especially, “pray continually.” What I think we sometimes forget, as Christians, we have one third of the Trinity in us at all times, the Holy Spirit. In John 14:26 Jesus said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things…” And it is the Holy Spirit in us that allows us to continually be in communication with the Father.
So, if you are in the midst of a trial now, cry out to Him. Bring your petition before Him and plead your case. Serenity will only come, when we realize things are beyond our control, and we place our trust into the Hands of the One who controls ALL things. When bad things happen to us, or to those close to us, the stress alone can destroy us, both mentally and physically. But if we will learn to give our trials to the Lord, He WILL calm the storm, and PEACE will surely follow. Never forget, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16
