As God Is Withdrawing His Grace the Depravity of Human Nature is Becoming More and More Evident

One of the core beliefs of Christianity is the depravity of human nature. Vocabulary.com defines the word like this: It goes beyond mere bad behavior-it is a total lack of morals, values, and even regard for other living things. Jeremiah 17:9 says the human heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Genesis 6:5 mentions that prior to the flood of Noah there was evil continually. Then if one turns to Matthew 24:37, it states that the days before the coming of the Lord the world will be like it was in the days of Noah. The above three verses taken together describe our current world situation. God is lifting his hand of grace and mercy because for so long people have rejected him, even though there has been 2,000 years since his death and resurrection, and the example he lived upon the earth, to get their hearts right with God.
As God's grace is taken away, the evidence of more and more depravity is taking over. We have ISIS, homosexuality, abortions, religious persecution, economic and political upheaval, and continual evil. Last year there were beheadings and crucifixions. (Yes, crucifixions, folks.) Recently, two more people were beheaded and a Jordanian pilot was burned alive. Teens are being sucked into the occult at an alarming rate. Mankind is sinking to his lowest level, and it is going to get worse! If you don't think so read these headlines taken from my research over the past several months:
* ISIS' Reign of Terror: 17 Men Crucified, Mutilated for Apostasy: women stoned to death for adultery.
* ISIS Executes 13 in Mosul for watching game.
* Woman Beheaded in broad daylight in "moderate" Muslim nation while police watch.
* Islamic State selling, crucifying, burying children alive in Iraq.
* ISIS shows its most popular execution style is crucifixion.
* Islamic State issues photos of toddlers in gun training.
Need I say more? They have said their goal is to hang their flag over the White House.
There is one positive fact through all of this. The Holy Spirt of God lives in the life of each and every true Christian. This is a restraining influence against evil. This does not mean that Christians are perfect. It means that God's supernatural intervention is in the heart of those who have called upon his grace and have been given a new spiritual nature. They have a hope, peace, joy, security, and love that depraved souls without God cannot experience nor understand. That is why Jesus came as the Savior of the world.
Not everyone, of course, is displaying a depraved human nature, but a large segment of the population is running scared without hope at the political and economic mess, and acts of evil. At the same time, many are not giving God a chance to work in their lives and transform their hearts with new character, purpose, and meaning. Time is running out! You need to make a choice today. Are you going to look into the face of God or shake your fist at God?
