Christian Living
Reading in the book of Psalms chapter 118 verse 17 in the NIV,” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done”. This verse reminded me of a conversation I share with another. I was talking with my friend awhile back and aspects of Christianity appeared in my conversation with him. As we discuss our battles we are facing here and there. My friend quoted to me, “That you always discuss your conflicts and the assuming sinful nature that follows it.” He told me, “I am not catholic like you or believe in God and my experiences have nothing to do with Satan, only typical things that come of being and living as human being”.
I told him a quick story about a fisherman in hopes to explaining how the devil works. I said, “You like to fish right?” He said, “Yes.” Well when you fish, do you stop with just one fish and place it on your rig to save for later or do you set your catch to the side and fish for more?” He said, “I keep on fishing and strive to catch for more.” Well I said to him, “Okay, but what about if you don’t catch sometime soon afterwards, do you change bait and keep trying?” He said, “Yes I do after awhile.” I told him, “That is how Satan works in catching us.” He lures us in with any and all baits, and for those who believe he doesn’t exist?” I said to him, “You are caught and may never be place back in the water because of your disbelief in God and having no fellowship in accepting Christ. I said, “Because Satan is determine to always get his catch, but always wants more right afterwards.”
He will never throw back because of his lust of hate to us and God Himself. That the devil knows I can do great things in this world for our Father in heaven.” In which I told him, “Out of fear of knowing what potential I have he will do anything he can to lure in his lies to take me out.” For Satan has caught so many unbelievers who either turned away from God out of their frustration, will never return or never accepted Christ ever as they are blinded in their self-righteousness of being blinded, but does Satan stop there? No he does not. He will continue to lure with baits of lies and deceitful manners that encourage lack of conviction. For he is the ultimate fisher of souls in which he will continue to browse his tackle box, line is pole, string his bait, cast his line and wait for a moment of catch to encourage us to veer away from God and never go back.
Don’t be a dead fish that clings on the rig of Satan in being tricked. Rise up in establishing your bond with Christ in accepting Him as your savior, repent of your sins and dwell with our Lord as we can all live in eternity with Christ. Reconsider your thoughts and allow our Lord to breathe oxygen back into your gills to be free of bondage of your sins. Let us all stand strong and bold with God as we face the battles that Satan strives so hard to catch and lure us in. Strengthen your faith with reading the bible, attend church, attend bible study, mediation on the word, and spend time in your fellowship with God. Build your faith on trust that comes from the word. Because with Christ we will definitely win! For God is with us and who could stand against us with our Father present in our lives? I believe you know the answer to that. Thank you God for your mercy and love you share with all and encourage all to share with one another. God bless my friends.
