Lord Do It Again
II Chronicles 30:8-9
Now be ye not stiff necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified forever; and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you
For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that they shall come again into this land for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
God has ceased doing what we ask because iniquity abounds in the heart of many.
Iniquity is hidden sin, sin no one knows about but you and God. Secret sin, sin that you think is not sin.
Iniquity is in the heart, jealousy, envy, strife, hatred.
Love is an intense affectionate concern for another person. An intense sexual desire for another person. A strong fondness or enthusiasm for something.
There are 3 types of love:
1. Agape - Christian love, love by God, unconditional
2. Eros - Love, desire, sexual desire, fleshly love
3. Philos - a love of or fondness for something, beloved, dear loving, conditional, if you do something for me, I'll do for you
Envy - a feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by contemplation of another's desirable possession or qualities with a strong desire to have them for oneself.
Strife - heated, often violent dissention, bitter conflict. A contention, struggle between rivals, discord.
Discord - Lack of agreement among persons, groups or things, dissention, to clash, confused or harsh mingling of sounds, fail to agree or harmonize.
Jealousy - jealous attitude especially toward a rival, close watchfulness. Fearful or wary of being supplanted, apprehensive of loss of position or affection. Resentful or bitter in rivalry. Envious, possessively watchful.
Hatred - violent dislike or animosity, abhorrence
Hate - to loathe, detest, to dislike, wish or shun, strong dislike
Hateful - Inspiring hatred, detestable, despicable feeling or expressing hatred, malevolent
Wax - any of various natural unctuous, viscous or solid heat sensitive substances, consisting essentially of high molecular weight. Solid, any wax like substance that is readily molded and impressionable. Become gradually larger, increase in illumination. Progress toward being full.
Cold - having a low temperature, lacking heat, lacking energy, unconscious, not affected by emotions, without appeal to the senses of or feeling. Not affectionate or enthusiastic, without freshness, faint, or weak. Without passion or remorse, far removed from the objective.
God places angels in the midst of us. You have to be careful how you entertain angels for some you have entertained unaware.
Be careful how you treat them, entreat them, and talk about them. God has placed them here to reach pass you for you. Sometime you are in the way of the blessing coming, but because God has placed special people in the midst, he will honor all petitions, but when you mistreat that angel it brings forth curses.
People without knowing or realizing; because of these little hidden things has waxed the love of God cold in them.
God's word is true and it's immutable, it changes not. We change.
When we first got saved, every body was a sweet heart. Then after a while you start seeing things about people that you don't like.
Well the Devil causes you to wax cold because you get irked every time, they do whatever it is you don't like, well get over it. That’s their personality, accept it. Learn to accept the things you cannot change. Change your outlook of it and it will become easier for you to accept.
Those little things that weigh in our heart are what will take you to Hell. It's not fornication, stealing, or cheating, not that I am endorsing any of this, but some things is looked upon more than others, but they are just as important.
All of it is sin, whether we know it or not.
All of it causes God to move out of our hearts and leave us cold, despised and wretched. You've got to watch them dogs. Stuff creeps upon you unaware.
Sometime we realize we don't feel what we use to. We wonder why. Your love, your drive, your passion is gone. The spirit that once drove you, has left you. It's ceased to be alive and vibrant. It has waxed cold.
But you need to tell God, Lord do it again.
We realize our passion for the study of the word is not there anymore. Some of us use to study in a corner with a candle if we had too and now it's hard to pick up our Bible with flourishing light. You have lost it but all you have to do is tell God, Lord do it again.
You use to fast at least twice a week. Your desire is cold, you don't feel you need to mix fasting with prayer. It doesn't appeal to you anymore. You have no enthusiasm for it. You are faint, weak, have no energy to fast, and your love for fasting has waxed cold. Ask God, Lord do it again.
What has happened is what was once the zeal of God has become complacency. Your good that was once recognized as Christ moving and growing in you has become satisfaction just to be in church.
You don't even exercise your gifts, talents and abilities. Your joints have collected inflammation.
You need to ask God, Lord do it again.
It's not God's will that we perish, but we are perishing for lack of knowledge, because it's put right there and we won't apply ourselves to what's needed to get it.
In our text II Chronicles 30:8-9 Hezekiah wrote letters to all Isreal that they should come to the house of the Lord to celebrate the pass over unto the Lord their God.
The King had given permission that the pass over could be kept in the second month, but because the priests had not sanctified themselves, nor the people gathered themselves where they needed to be, they couldn't keep it at that time. So the King made a decree that it would be at that time, so that they knew to be prepared to do this Holy thing each year after because they had not done it for a while as it was written to do because of the unpreparedness.
People, God's people why aren't you ready to participate in the holy things of God as needed. Your love has waxed cold. You are doing things you have no business. You are participating in things that take you out of the will of God. In all our lives we should always be prepared to partake of God.
Some people don't take communion, participate in feet washing or won't get baptized because of their unpreparedness. We need to tell God, Lord Do It Again.
The King sent out a letter to all Isreal and Judah and commanded them saying, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob and he will return unto the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the enemy.
When you turn from God you turn to the enemy and in most cases the enemy will consume you if God's grace don't abound.
The King exhorted them not to be like their fathers and brethren who trespassed the laws and commandments of God. For God gave them up to desolation as they see. Their love waxed cold. They didn't have a desire for God or the things of God. They became rebellious, stopped consecrating themselves to the Lord.
But we need the Lord to renew our hearts, minds and souls. Lord Do It Again. Not be stiff necked (rebellious) as our fathers in disobedience, but rather yielding unto the Lord. Enter into his sanctuary, coming in right, with a clean heart, in the right frame of mind, sanctified, fit for the master use, ready for service to do a work for God, that God's wrath may be turned away from us.
For what we do and how we obey affect all that we love. But if we run again unto the Lord, your brethren, and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they can come again into this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his fare from you, if ye return to him. The Lord will do it again. God will pardon every one and your prayers will come up to his holy dwelling, heaven.
