A birth announcement is something that everyone reads in the present time newspapers. Jesus Christ’s birth announcement was written in the Bible for everyone to read either in the past, present, or future time. I pray that everyone will take the chance to read about the High Savior that was coming to the planet Earth to save the human beings from their sins. Jesus will show us that He will always be there for us through the bad times as well as the good times. Jesus will never leave us or forsake us.
In this chapter of the Bible, the reader can read it like a birth announcement which reads that Mary is the blessed mother of Jesus and the father was the Holy Spirit which I guess would make the Joseph, the step father. Now, before I get the comments asking me what I am talking about, it is stated in Verses 18 which states “Now, this is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph. , But while she was still a virgin she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.” Remember, also I am using present time labels such as father, mother, and stepfather.
A prophet sent a message which read “Look, the virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and he will be called Immanuel (meaning God is with us). I have always wondered if this statement applies that Jesus’ real name is Immanuel Jesus or Jesus Immanuel. Just a curiosity question that probably wouldn’t ever get answered since I wasn’t born in the past when Mary and Joseph were naming Jesus, when I pray to Jesus, I always say “Dearest Jesus,” I guess the middle name doesn’t mean anything ,but it is something that I have come across reading the Bible and always wondered about it.
Now, when Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant with someone else’s baby, he was mad at her and wanted to break the engagement in private, so that he wouldn’t embarrasses her. He was a kind and loving person to be considered to Mary’s feeling in this situation.
When an angel of the Lord came to Joseph to explain the situation, he re-considered what he had decided to do by breaking the engagement in private. He thought about it and decides to marry her anyway. He was in love with Mary and went against public consent to marry her. In this time in the past, the public consent was to stone a woman who got pregnant before she was married and especially since it wasn’t her future husband’s child. He would have been in the right to ask for Mary to be stoned to death, but since Joseph feared the Lord more. He decided to take Mary as his wife, but he didn’t not touch her as a man touches his wife until the baby was born.
Just think of having the Holy Spirit as your father and God as your grandfather? I wonder if the pressure was on Jesus to always listen to his grandfather, God and follow in his footsteps. Sorry, I couldn’t refuse asking this question in present time terms again. I would love to hear what my readers think of this article and especially the questions I just asked.
