Today the world revers Abraham as the father of the faithful and he is an example for all those who wait on the Lord God for the fulfillment of their promises.
"For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”" Romans 4:3 (NKJV)
Yet Abraham's journey from receiving the promise till its fulfillment required great perseverance and faithfulness, for God did act, yet when all hopes were lost.
God has His own time and which is also the right time.
Almost everyone who has been considered as the stalwarts of faith had to wait patiently.
God has made this very clear for everyone who comes to Him..
'But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6(NKJV)
Faith in God is not just believing in Him, it is actually believing in Him at all times and in all circumstances.
Faith is not just feeling the celestial presence of the Lord during the church worship time, rather it is feeling His presence in every moment of our life.
Irrespective of where we are right now, or what condition we are going through, Hebrews 11:6 stands true for us and that's faith.
We have to believe in His existence through good and bad times and we have to believe that by His very nature He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
God rewarded Abraham, He rewarded Moses and He rewarded everyone who trusted in Him, how then will He leave us unrewarded if we fix our trust upon Him and love Him with an unwavering love.
I know its hard to believe through those painful experiences, yet it would be foolish to deny His existence.
Job knew the Lord and He knew Him to be very good and thus it was impossible for Him to mistrust God when He was tormented, for even when in his deepest pain, he said thus....
"For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth;" Job 19:25 (NKJV)
We too have to express our faith in God in this manner.
I pray that may we not trust in Him with a heavy heart as if someone has forced us to do so, rather let us see Him every time, holding the answers to our prayers in His hands and trust in Him that He will give it to us when the right time comes, for in all this His eye will not move away from us and so should not ours, for when He keeps watching us as we patiently wait, lets keep watching Him encouraging us and let's trust that He will move, He will supply, He will redeem in His blessed right time.
God knows our limits and our capacity and if He is waiting, that simply means that He trusts and believes that we can carry on, He will give us the strength, yet in this process, let us not give up, for He has not given up on us.
He is not far away from us and this also is so true about Him...
"God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1(NKJV)
How soon is the 'very present', only God would know, yet when its all over, we will surely say, ' thank You Lord for redeeming me in time'
God Bless,
Abraham
