When we meet Christ there is a battle that starts right away between our old nature and the mind of Christ. When this battle intensifies we often become frustrated. We do not recognise what is going on inside of us. Particularly the battles for the Heart and Brain. Satan went to great lengths to deceive Adam and Eve and he will fight tooth and nail to keep us in his domain. We have only to look at the divisions and battles between the churches to see how able he is. He intends to try and win this war, he knows that Christ defeated him on the cross
There is nothing more dangerous than a defeated desperate foe. He will fight with under the belt tactic's, going to great lengths to achieve his goal.
This is where the Holy Spirit wages war within us. This is a war for our liberty from the dominion of satan. in 2. Corinthians verse 17. Now the Lord (Jesus) is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty !, and that is why this battle is so intense. Jesus won this battle for us. We have to let him reign in our lives and give him the our Adamic nature that would hinder him. You see we have to do our part in this and it is not easy in self. But when we surrender completely to the Holy Spirit, then he comforts us. That is why he is called a comforter. James 2:5. Did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?.
Romans Chapter 8 verses 11-16.
If Christ Jesus is in you, the body is dead because of sin. He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies, through his spirit who lives in you.
12. Therefore brethren we are debtors-not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
13. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of your body, you will live’
14. For as many who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear. But you received the spirit of adoption by whom we cry Abba father.
16. The spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
John 14. verse 18. I will not leave you comfortless, i will come to you.
Hebrews 12. verse 2. Looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.
Chastisement is not for the sinner it is for the believer. Judgement is for the sinner.
If we do not correct ourselves, God will. He will not let us live in the flesh and feed on
the garbage of this Godless world. That is why God says I will not leave you comfortless.
There are things of the flesh that will need to go and some of them will have a painful extraction. He will come to us in these times of Spiritual character building.
