This valley that I am in is very real,
The peak that I seek is so far away,
That closeness that I had I cannot feel,
I seem to slip a little more each day.

I want to return to when Christ was near,
I need to have Him walking by my side,
My life meant so much more when He was here,
He was the one in whom I could confide.

I need His help to guide every thought,
I need the strength that only He can give,
It was with His own blood my sins He bought,
It is with that fact day I must live.

The real truth I now know that I have hid
For God did not make this valley; I did.
