Poetry
I have an angel, who watches day and night
She knows that I am feeble
And often short of sight
As I look back on perils past
When I was young and went too fast
When I would blindly blunder
Around me death laughing thundered
I never saw the hazard there
I was too numb to even care
As I'd pass right through a deadly snare
Now my eyes are dimmer
And my joints are getting stiff
Yet I see that I was blessed
With a special gift
Her hands were twisted with arthritic pain
Yet everyday she folded them
And offered up my name
From a chair on wheels, with failing health
And wise old eyes that could not see
She saw it all and swayed the tide
As she would pray for me
With a Bible in her lap, she told of Jesus’ love
How He came and died for me
And now has gone above
Yes I thank God for Grandma
She never gave up on me
Through her faith and love for God
Now I can clearly see
By now I’d surely have drowned
In the sea of life
Had it not been for Grandma’s prayers
My Grandpa’s godly wife
I think of her now in a golden rocker
On her face a knowing smile
As on a cloud she rocks and sings
And prays for me a while
