Welcome to an episode of Living Room ministries My names Debi I'm glad you shared part of your day with me.

Matt 16: 24

This verse and lesson was a personal one to me because it dealt with the question of was I really denying myself fully as Jesus Commanded in Matt 16:24. I looked that verse up in three different versions for a better translation and liked what the Amp version says : “If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests]. Did you catch that last part- Forget his own interest? Now your probably wondering what was my interest in question. It was publishing a book, and get recognized to feel important.

In all fairness this was due to a childhood need to be valued and seen as important instead of abused and ignored. But as I grew up that need never left me. However now that I have given my life to Christ and the desire to live as He wants me to was the need to be noticed really a spiritual need or physical.

I believe God gave me a gift to write which I did frequently, Mystery's ghost stories love stories and so forth. Now He is asking me to use that same talent that I used to write the things above to write for Him. To minister to others who need to hear ( or read) his word and get comfort from them.

However in heading in this new direction I have come across some obstacles and opposition. Satan is working to keep me in chaos wondering if I could do better or more or faster...

No matter where my thoughts take me I always seem to come back to Matt 16 :24. Debi If you desire to be My disciple, deny yourself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget yourself and your own interests.] Yes I personalized it. But this is the message I'm getting. And because it is from Jesus it is the truth.

What better friend is there – Hes telling you exactly how it should be shooting stright from the hip. If you want to live and have your life, you will HAVE to do it this way- My way. Because that's the ONLY way.

How great is that message ???

Let's pray

Father God Thank you for this message today and gently reminding me over and over that your way IS the best way. Its the only way I should be living. Thank you for not giving up on me when I ver off course and gently stir me back to where I should be as I continue to search your word for lessons I should be learning and living each and every day. Thank you Father for the gift of writing and letting me be your vessel to get out your word. For I love your Words and sharing them brings such joy. Even when I shift my gaze you are never far away to remind me where my eyes should be focused.
