Here I am once again;
Back at the same place
I said I’d never be.
The darkness I didn’t want to see.
I’m crying again…
Repenting again.
Oh Lord, what do You think of me?
I’ve seen pride break a man to pieces.
I’ve seen it in me.
Cloud this mirror.
Clear my mind.
And, Lord, renew me.
There’s a weight upon my shoulders.
There are voices in my head.
They tell me to go under… to stumble;
To just give up, just give in.
Satan’s angels want to break me.
And I pray. Oh, I pray.
They scratch at my skin.
They tell me I won’t win.
But all along I know…
They are jealous of my King.

Lord, refine me, remind me,
Of who I’m living for,
Of the torture you endured,
As you took those nails,
And wore those thorns,
Just for a sinner like me.
As I kneel here once again,
It’s all too familiar.
It’s way too familiar.
I know you hear me as I cry out.
You’re there each time I fall.
I don’t even have to call,
Because you know me.
You hold me.
You whisper in my ear,
And give me peace.
You give me peace,
With each and every tear.

And as I return to this place
I said I’d never be,
You are still waiting for me.
Oh, my Lord,
Why have you not deserted me?
