The Tussle For Power

Power is one element that has destroyed a lot of people and is already dragging millions to their early grave, while a lot others will still be destroyed or killed by it. The desire for power or supremacy has ruined the plan agenda of God for man into junks and empty trashes. Still on this, all of us still went ahead to crave for power without ever asking about or giving a second thought about those which this same desire and drive have destroyed or killed.
The hall mark of the world has thousands of names of people who have subdued the earth and got a lot of people under their control, yet, at the tail end, the same power which they possess and which also got them where they found themselves, also happened to be the same element which marred them not withstanding all that they accomplished with the same power which got them killed along the line or before their expected end. Despite the fact that these different power drive personalities died unexpectedly or early in life, yet others still crave for the same power. Even those who happened to see how these power holders died, yet, went ahead in their desire and quest for power and authority.
The fact remains that the quest for power and supremacy started before the creation of mankind (the rebellion of Satan and one third of the heavenly Host [Rev 12:7-9]). And mankind having come to the scene, failed to see reasons in which they are not to tussle for power, rather, went the other way towards the extreme of desire for power. Apparently, being in possession of power or being endowed with power is neither sinful nor evil on its own. But what makes power seems sinful and evil besides the urge and crave for it is what those who possesses it accomplished with it.
Undoubtedly, in Christendom, this same act still perpetuates though not with its right aim and objective. This power tussle should have been corrected through the angle of spiritual demonstration of it because every issue or thing is best viewed through the angle of spiritual revelation of it. But instead of the church of Jesus Christ to remedy the course of it and the curse mankind has imposed upon themselves through its practice, the very act which should have been amended or corrected is rather worsened to the point that all thought that God willingly allowed man to run after power and authority. Are we to say shame upon ourselves or are we to lie still and be the mockery of the world? The most painful thing being that instead of these our brothers and sisters in the Lord who have been driven by the quest for power and supremacy, to lord it over the forces of darkness or even the world at large, they rather lord it only within the framework of the church just because they are afraid of competing with the worldly personalities in the tussle for power; because of the wicked act they are capable and willing to wrought upon any one who oppose them.
Are you a leader in the house of God or are you lording it over the people of God, is two different questions I want you to pounder on. A leader leads by example, but one who lords it upon others does so because he or she feels that oneself is endowed or possesses power and authority over others. As a Christian leader and one being bestowed with a heavy task, I urge you to look into this issue of power tussle and see if there is any area in which you have erred. If there’s, I do not condemn you, but urge you to amend your ways for the betterment of all, and to the glory of our Lord and God.
Remain a committed and exemplary leader, and if you are a follower, please don’t desire to lead. Even if you have the urge to lead simply because you thought that you can do better, be careful then, less it turnout to be that it’s the desire for supremacy that is at work in your life. My work is like that of a watch man appointed to sound the trumpet as loud as it can once he notices a strange movement. I have just done exactly that, it’s left for you to decide what you want to happen to you. [Ezek 33:1-9].
