Love for Love, born from above,
   this my sin-repellent.
Life from the seed of God thereof,
   the Life of life repentant.

Life from the Love that won't be blessed,
   unless it excels.
It cannot tire 'til it finds its rest
   in living His life well.

This Love hates rebellion's misery
   along with its division.
It hates its past history,
   the object of Satan's derision.

It is my heart's motive;
   it is my excellent compulsion.
Like the fire of heaven's votive
   it breathes the Spirit's unction.

So my heart is only content
   as long as it moves upward.
I must seek what is    excellent,
   what is only found in the Lord.

Let my Love be not cold,
   to die the fool's death.
With Your Word, make it bold,
   even by the Spirit's breath.

Then I will praise and glorify
   the Source of my repentance.
I'll give thanks to Him on high,
   the Lord of all things excellent.
