Psalm 119.65
Proving God
"You have dealt well with Your servant well, O Lord, according to your word" [Psalm 119.65 NASB]
Earlier on in his various writings, David said, "Oh taste and see that the Lord is good" [Psalm 34.8]. David is speaking in a similar vein here. Why is he touching on the same thread again? God had previously promised to take care of His servant, and here David shows that he is very satisfied when he testifies, "You have dealt well with Your servant."
Our testimonies often consist of recalling, with thankfulness, God's acts of faithfulness and deliverance. At such times we can categorically say, "God has…" God's keeping power in the midst of our many chequered experiences has enabled us to be further established in the faith
Once again, God had given David a word and He had built his character one brick at a time; now his life was a wonderful multi-coloured picture with different aspects of God's glory manifested for all to see.
Is your life like God's servant David? If the answer is "No", then reconsider the well-established truth that God is 100% impartial and He can do for you what He has gladly and willingly done for other believers. [David McArdle]
